Margo is frequently consulted by creative directors and designers who want something more than just another font. Her lettering provides the distinctive look that is only possible through marks made by hand on paper.

As a key contributor to commercial projects, Margo finds the appropriate visual expression for the text.

We can begin with a face-to-face meeting if you're local, or an emailed or faxed design rough if you're further afield. Margo has worked with clients throughout the Northeast, in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, as well as many other parts of the U.S.

Margo begins her work for reproduction all by hand, then scans and retouches in Adobe Photoshop, so you end up with a very clean digital image to work with. JPEGs are sent to you along the way for approval or redirection. Finals can be emailed or sent to you on CD for large files.

Before beginning work on your project, Margo usually expects a signed contract or purchase order confirming agreed fees, time schedule, etc.

The owners of Stonewall Kitchen were seeking a relief from typefaces, and asked Margo to create handlettered headings for their wholesale catalog, which reflect their emphasis on handcrafted specialty foods.

     




The new owners of the historic Chebeague Island Inn wanted a new logo design to go along with the restored inn,
but the logo needed the look of days gone by. Margo's handlettering, combined with Leslie Evans Design's elements,
was the perfect solution.


           

 

Margo redesigned the logo for H.M. Payson, one of the oldest independent investment firms in the country, which wanted to reflect its roots going back to the 1850s.

Lindt Chocolate used Margo's lettering to bring a romantic feel to their Valentine's Day ad.
